Handmade kantha quilts and robes direct from India

​Kantha quilts were made by poor women in West Bengal when they needed blankets for their babies. They took the softest parts of their well-worn cotton saris and pieced them together with a tight running stitch called kantha. These quilts are still made today with vintage saris in the traditional embroidery stitch by impoverished women.

​Kantha quilts are great for picnic blankets, baby blankets or beach blankets.  They make great table covers or sew one into a purse, curtains or lamp cover.
